Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How can I get my local store to carry Peeled Snacks?

A. Click here to print one of our product request forms and just hand it to your local store manager.

Q. Why are there two bags in the Fruit & Nuts mixes?

A. Nuts should be crisp and crunchy, and fruit should be moist and juicy. When you mix fruit with nuts, the nuts start to moisten and the fruit starts to dry out. We pack the fruit and nuts separately to make sure that when you eat Peeled Snacks, the nuts are crunchy and the fruit is juicy. Other fruit and nut mixes try to cheat by adding sweeteners or fat, but Peeled Snacks are naturally sweet and flavorful.

Q. Why does it say 2 servings?

A. Fruit and Nuts are a satisfying combination of dried fruit and nuts loaded with a wholesome mix of carbohydrates, fiber, and protein. Fruit and Nuts are perfect when you are on the go and need a satisfying snack to hold you over. For a long-lasting boost, we recommend eating both servings.

Q. How do I eat these Peeled Snacks?

A. The easy answer is: any way that suits you. However, we recommend that you mix the fruit and nuts. Open your Peeled Snack, take out the nut pack and peel it open. Pour the nuts (and, if you're eating Shock-olate, the chocolate) into the Peeled Snack bag. Shake the bag to mix up the fruit and nuts. Finally, enjoy your Peeled Snack!

Q. Are Peeled Snacks all natural?

A. Because you have been asking for it, we created a new 100% natural line, Fruit Picks + Nut Picks. As always, our snacks have NO added sugar or oils, just healthy, tasty pieces of dried fruit and nuts.

Q. Why do the original Peeled Snacks, Fruit and Nuts, have sulfites?

A. Our fruit is dried with sulfites to preserve its natural color. For certain fruit, like cranberries, sugar can be used as a preservative instead of sulfites. We at Peeled Snacks believe that sugar coating is very harmful to people, especially with the growing diabetes and obesity crises in the U.S. Our unique packaging allows us to avoid adding sweeteners. To learn more about the unhealthy effects of added sweeteners and unnecessary food processing, read Professor Michael Pollan's writings here.

Q. What are sulfites?

A. Sulfites are naturally occurring and have been used in food for thousands of years. The ancient Greeks used them to preserve color and diminish bacteria in wine and dried fruit. Sulfites are believed to affect as few as 0.3% of the population. This is a very small number compared to other food allergies.

Q. How did we choose the varieties of our snacks?

A. We asked you! Cherry, Banana, Mango, and Pineapple were voted the most satisfying and tastiest of the many dried fruit we tested through SheSpeaks.com and our surveys. Take our survey and help us make the NEXT Peeled Snacks!

Q. Why can't I get Shock-olate in the summer time?

A. Shock-olate is packed with wholesome pieces of dried fruit and nuts, as well as morsels of chocolate. We discontinue Shock-olate for the summer to avoid melting chocolate. Sign up for our newsletter and be the first to hear when Shock-olate returns in the fall!
